I wanted to feed our precious baby 100% organic everything but simply could not afford it. The organic baby food, snacks, and meals were sometimes 3xs more expensive than the regular brands!
I knew I still wanted to feed my family the very best we could afford.
And so I learned more about nutrition and the value of whole foods and clean eating. The most surprising thing I learned was a majority of the foods that are marketed as “healthy” and “organic” weren’t even good for you!
Some of the organic foods were loaded with sugar and salt! And many of them were also really high in calories.
I began to change the way I viewed the term “healthy”. Healthy food to me means high quality foods loaded with nutrition and minimally processed.
You see, whole fruits and vegetables are actually pretty cheap! And making your own meals at home ensures you know exactly what is going into your food and you can choose how healthy the meal is!
And believe it or not, I have been able to feed our family of 4 a clean eating diet under $135 every week in southern California. Some weeks, I spend even less than that.
While your costs may be slightly more or less, I want to show you that you can also feed your family the very best without spending a fortune. And I want to show you that it is so much more than the money. Eating clean foods will give you and your family more energy, increase your mental well-being, and help you and your family live a happier, healthier lives.
